Financial Performance

The mean profit (EBITDA) margin of CSC managed facilities is higher than the national average as published in the 2008 Ambulatory Surgical Center Financial & Operational Benchmarking Study by VMG Health, LLC. CSC's financial interests are completely aligned with our physician and hospital partners. CSC invests its money on the same terms as the other partners and our management fees are calculated off of the project's bottom line. CSC does not make money unless our partners do.

Surgeon Efficiency

Due to operational efficiencies, surgeons perform more surgery in less time as compared to their previous venue. The results of these efficiencies can be dramatic.

Example: Dr. A does 400 outpatient cases per year. The turnaround time (defined as the time from removing the surgical drape from patient number one to incision time of patient number two) at his previous venue was 30 minutes, compared to 10 minutes at a CSC managed facility. This twenty minute time savings represents 17 full days of newly available time that can be time off, time spent in the office, or doing 267 more cases.

Recently, a CSC orthopedic center was cited for excellence In a national benchmarking study of Knee Arthroscopy with ACL repair and Meniscectomy by the AAAHC Institute for Quality Improvement. The study found that the CSC facility’s average turnaround time for this procedure was 22 minutes, compared to the national study average of 42 minutes. Turnover time for this study was defined as the time used to set up for the procedure plus the time used to clean up after that same procedure has ended.

Our facilities are highly specialized and often do more surgery in their specialty than any other facility (ASC or Hospital) in their region.
